Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif has suspended the party membership of Rana Mashood.
According to the details, a three member’s special committee comprising senior Party leaders, including senator Zafar Ul Haq, Ayaz Sadiq and Rana Tanveer, has been constituted to inquire into the matter.
According to the statement issued by PML-N spokesperson Maryam Aurangzeb, the committee will submit its report within two weeks with its recommendations.
The Party will take action against Rana Mashood in the light of recommendations of the committee. Rana Mashood on Tuesday while in his televised interview claimed that PML-N mended its fences with establishment.
He went on to say that ‘Think Tank’ of the worthy institutions keep realizing that Shehbaz Sharif was the better choice for the prime minister slot. Rana was of the opinion that had Shehbaz Sharif been prime minister, the country would not have suffered declining state of affairs.
He had stated that Shahbaz Sharif has always been acceptable for the establishment. The PML-N ex-minister without mentioning name had said that “They have understood.”
“Winning Party was regarded horse but it yielded mule,” Rana Mashood had said. He also issued clarification on his statement and said that private TV channel telecasted his clip out of context and his interview was given a special assumption which is against the ethics of the journalism.
DG ISPR Major General Asif Ghafoor in his reaction termed the statement baseless and disappointed.
