RAWALPINDI - City Police Officer (CPO) Rao Muhammad Iqbal Khan has issued show cause notices to eleven police officers of the district over poor performance while placed an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), informed CPO Office officials here on Wednesday. Meanwhile, CPO held an open katchehri outside his office in which some 42 people lodged their complaints with CPO against the police officials on which CPO issued direction to police officers concerned to solve the problems of the applicants with immediate effects. According to details, CPO Rao Iqbal received several complaints against 9 police officials regarding sheer negligence towards their duties. On which CPO issued show cause notices to Sub-Inspector (SI) Muhammad Ilyas of Police Station (PS) Pirwadhai, SIs Muhammad Iltaf, Fateh Khan and ASI Muhammad Gull Taj of PS R.A Bazaar, SI Tariq-bin-Aziz of PS Sadiqabad, Muhammad Masood of PS Westridge, SI Muhammad Munir of PS Jatli, SI Muhammad Abdullah of PS Cannt, Ijaz Hussain Shah of PS Airport, SI Muhammad Arif of PS Waris Khan and SI Muhammad Arif of PS Taxila. CPO Rao Iqbal, following the directions of Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Mian Shehbaz Sharif, deputed extra police force on all mobile trucks atta sale points besides directing SDPOs and SHOs concerned to brief their subordinates so that people could not steal the subsidized flour. Moreover, police, during an action against anti-social elements, arrested 12 illegal arms holders and drug sellers and recovered 1 riffle, 5 pistols, 56 bullets, 41 bottles of alcohol and 1.254 kg of Charas. Cases have also been registered against the accused.
