LONDON (AFP) Goalkeeper Scott Carson has withdrawn from Englands squad to face Bulgaria in their opening Euro 2012 fixture following a family bereavement, team officials confirmed Thursday. The West Bromwich Albion stopper will be replaced by Watfords Scott Loach for Fridays game at Wembley, although manager Fabio Capello is hopeful he may return in time for next Tuesdays game at Switzerland. Carson is the understudy to Manchester Citys Joe Hart, who has emerged as Englands No.1 goalkeeper following the World Cup. Capello has already seen his goalkeeping options reduced following the international retirement of Paul Robinson and withdrawal through injury of current number two Ben Foster.
