LAHORE - Secretary Health Punjab Fawad Hassan Fawad has said that Punjab Health Department is catering to the medical needs of the calamity-stricken people through its medical camps and mobile teams. He stated this while presiding over a departmental meeting which was attended by Special Secretary Health Abdullah Khan Sumbal, Special Secretary Health (Development) Wasim Mukhtar, Additional Secretary Health (Technical) Dr Mushtaq Ah-med Sulehriya and Director Health Management Information System Dr Muhammad Anwar Janjua. The meeting was informed that effective measures were being taken to control outbreak of malaria and other viral diseases in the flood-hit areas while anti-mosquito spray and fogging had been started. The meeting was further informed that 77 trucks of medicines had been sent to the affected areas while more than 13,82,000 patients had been provided medical treatment so far. Similarly, 18,85,000 packets of ORS had been distributed and the process of distribution of special food for pregnant women and infants was in progress.
