Quite up to speed

According to a story published in our newspapers, the ex-Chief Executive of International Cricket Council (ICC), Malcolm Speed has said in an interview with a British newspaper that Pakistani cricketers have been involved in match-fixing since the last few years so banning Pakistan cricket team would be a correct decision in the current situation. They should take rest from international cricket for some time. I think banning the entire team will be injustice to those who were not involved and it would affect our international respect as a country too. The correct decision would be a life time ban for those involved. Let us give a chance to the junior lot of our cricketers who are waiting in the wings for their turn. If the involved players are again allowed to go scot-free without a punishment, the international media would start blaming the innocent along with the guilty. -MUBASHIR SHAIKH, Hyderabad, September 1.
