MULTAN/SARGODHA/ MUZAFFARGARH/HAFIZABAD/BUREWALA - The officers and workers of all provincial departments marked Sunday as Dengue Eradication Day as a number of seminars, walks and other activities were organized by educational institutions, district administrations and other departments.

In MULTAN, a walk was led by Punjab Minister for Auqaf Haji Ehsan Uddin Qureshi, Commissioner Multan Muhammad Khurram Agha was the main event of the day. The walk started from Commissioner's office and ended at Chowk Kachehri. The DCO Zahid Akhtar Zaman, district president of PML-N Bilal Butt, general secretary Sheikh Athar Mumtaz and officials of district government participated in the walk. Similarly, Public Health Engineering Department also organized a walk between Shamasabad and Chungi No-9 and the participants of the walk distributed literature on dengue to create awareness. 

Talking to the journalists on the occasion, Haji Ehsan Uddin Qureshi said that the entire nation was determined to eliminate dengue under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif. He added that the provincial government allocated all out resources to eradicate dengue from Punjab.

In SARGODHA, University of Sargodha Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Akram Chaudhry led and addressed a walk organised to observed anti-dengue day.

Objective of the walk was raise awareness among the public, especially the student of the UoS. It started from Admin Block and after passing through University Road culminated at Main Gate of the university.

Spouse of Vice Chancellor Rehana Akram Ch, the Uos Registrar, Deans of various Faculties, Principals Agriculture College and Sargodha Medical College, Resident Officer, Project Director, Director Publications & Media, Heads and Chairmen of other Departments, teachers, staff and a large number of students participated in the walk.

In MUZAFFARGARH, The district administration organised different activities including seminars to observe anti-dengue day.

Addressing the seminar which was organised by the Health department, acting DCO Muzaffar Syial directed the officers concerned to monitor anti-dengue campaign in the district effectively.

On the other hand, an Anti-Dengue walk was led by member CMIT Tahir Yousaf which was started from EDO (Health) Office and ended at DCO office.

In HAFIZABAD, Anti-Dengue Day was observed in the district. In this connection, a seminar was held at Jinnah Hall which was chaired by CMIT member Kokab Naveed Warraich. The seminar was attended among others by DCO Muhammad Asif, MPA Asadullah Arain, EDO Health Dr M Aslam and other doctors & officers.

Speakers at the seminar called upon the general public to play their vital role in creating awareness among the public regarding the menace and to protect them from dengue fever. Rescue-1122 squad and students and teachers of Govt Degree College for Boys and Govt Islamia Degree College for Women also taken out separate anti-dengue rallies.

In NANKANA SAHIB, seminar and awareness walk was organised by the district administration, traders of Markazi Anjuman-e-Tajran, civil society, private schools association, journalists, schoolteachers and students, civil society and several NGOs including PRICE, Pehchan etc to mark anti-dengue day at Zila Council hall. Documentary movie on multimedia was showed to the participants regarding precautionary measures to avoid dengue fever. 

Acting DCO Mian Jameel Ahmed chaired the seminar while Private Schools Association President GQ Alvi, Khan Baber Khan, AC Nabeela Irfan, EDO Health, TMO Ch Amjad, DO Labour Imran Haider Tipu, General Secretary Markazi Anjuman Tajran Sh Shahid, officers of the district departments and a large number of notables attended it.

In BUREWALA, the administration arranged anti-dengue walk which was largely attended by the politicians, traders, students, social organizations.

AC Manzoor Ahmad Khan led the walk which started from THQ Hospital and culminated in front Press Club on College Road, DSP Mazhar Ahmad Wattoo, Former provincial Minister Ch Nazir Ahmad, former DN Syed Sajid Mehdi, Muhammad Yousaf Kasaliya, Ch Irshad Ahmad, Anjuman Tajran President, Muhammad Saghir Ramay and other participated in it.

In KAMOKE, MNA Rana Nasir and Assistant Commissioner Samira Zahid led a walk organised in connection with anti-dengue day. The walk was attended by Principal Government Degree College, MS Dr Nawazish, Deputy AEO Education and a large number of people from all walks of life.

In TOBA TEK SINGH, scores of government servants took out a dengue awareness rally which started from district courts complex. It was led by ADC Haroon Rashid and ended at TMA complex after marching through different roads. A seminar was also held at TMA hall where speakers urged the participants to actively take part in anti-dengue campaign.
