FIR of three people killed by Rangers lodged

KARACHI – Police registered FIRs on complaint of Rangers against the killing of three innocent people who were allegedly killed by the firing of Ranger personnel during the raids conducted on Friday night within the remit of Quaidabad police station. According to the details, at least three people including a woman were killed allegedly by the firing of the Rangers during overnight operation in Muslimabad, Landhi.Witnesses said that two of the victims were identified as 56-year-old Rasheed and woman as Bani Guldara Jan while an elderly man who also became a victim of the Rangers firing has yet to be identified. Two Rangers personnel Abdul Hameed and Afsar Khan were also injured during the exchange of fire. Witnesses said that criminal elements managed to escape during exchange of fire. However, Rangers continued retaliatory firing which injured area residents and three of them succumbed to their injures on the way to hospital. The victims’ relatives and a score of residents staged protest against the killings of innocent people and those picked up by the Rangers.Finally, police registered an FIR 448/449/451/2012 on complaint of Ranger Inspector Shakeel Akhter against six accused persons including Abdul Rehman, Asif, Amin Gul, Wazir, Saeed Ahmed and Umar Gul.Complainant stated in the FIR that rangers raided the said area of Muslimabad, when drug paddlers were resorted to firing. Two ranger’s personnel were wounded and two including a woman were killed. Another FIR was registered against the unknown accused and a man was showed accomplice of drug paddlers while rest of two victims were shown as the associates of ranger during the raid. Another FIR 451, registered showing the recovery of drugs during the raid. Meanwhile, a tortured body of a eunuch was found near Sohrab Goth Bridge within the limits of Sohrab Goth police station. Official said that unidentified culprits first kidnapped him and after torturing brutally penetrated single bullet in his upper torso and later threw his body from running vehicle and escaped. The identity of the victim could not be ascertained. The body was brought to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital ASH for an autopsy and later moved to mortuary for identification.
