ISLAMABAD – Local intellectuals and broadcasters of Pakistan Intellectual Forum (PIF) Sunday, paid tribute to a versatile broadcaster and scholar, Syed Saleh Muhammad Shah. In a gathering arranged by the forum to mark Saleh Muhammad Shah’s death anniversary, renowned researcher and writer, Dr Khadim Hussain Soomro noted Syed Saleh Muhammad Shah was a giant of Sindhi broadcasting. and he inspired an entire generation of broadcasters and researchers in Sindh province. Hashim Abro of PIF said that Syed Saleh Muhammad Shah was “an innate broadcaster” who “labored hard and set the groundwork for countless people like myself”.
He would continue to be influenced by Shah’s professionalism, talent and skills, Hashim Abro maintained.
On the occasion, Dr Qasim Rind said that Syed Saleh Muhammad Shah was known as a humanitarian, a friend of many and a guide to more than a few who sought to advance in the profession.
Allahwasayo Ghoto remarked Syed Saleh Muhammad Shah was a preacher of the message of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai.
On the death anniversary, “Qul” was arranged for the departed soul of this much-loved broadcaster and staunch disciple of Shah Latif.
A resolution was also passed, urging the provincial government to initiate a stipend in the memory of this legendary broadcaster for the positions holders of mass communication students in various public and private sector varsity in Sindh.
