Leader of the opposition in Punjab Assembly Raja Riaz has said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) chief Nawaz Sharif desired to crush his opponents before general elections and first phase of the process has been initiated.

Addressing a press conference along with Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MPA Shaukat Basra here in Lahore on Monday, he said the PML-N leadership has asked the police authorities to register cases against PPP and PML-Q leaders and implicate them in various fake cases.

He said the N-League was following the policy of political revenge against him and other leaders of coalition government for disclosing their misdeeds.

Raja Riaz said that emperors of Raiwind were worried about their rule as during their rule they didn’t pay any heed towards masses’ sufferings and now as general election is approaching their tension has increased further.

He also condemned the rejecting of bail pleas of Makhdoom Shahabuddin and Musa Gilani and said that it was a political case.

The opposition leader in Punjab Assembly said that PPP leaders and activists are followers of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and their voice could not be suppressed.
