PPP to win next elections with majority: Sharjeel

MIRPURKHAS - Sindh Minister for Information Sharjeel Memon has said the Pakistan People’s Party will win the next general election in Sindh province with a clear majority.
In a press release issued here the other day, he said the opponents of the PPP would not even find candidates in the province to contest the elections.
He said the people of Sindh have always reposed full confidence in the PPP leadership and gave a heavy mandate to the party, while Mian Nawaz Sharif has admitted his defeat in the province.
The minister said the present democratic government has undertaken record development projects in the province. The party, he said, provided job opportunities to thousands of youths, and reinstated those sacked in previous governments. He said the party is accountable only before the people for everything. Sharjeel Memon said the PPP would continue to serve the people without any discrimination.
Meanwhile, a Sindh cabinet meeting  approved Rs3.30 billion development package for Umerkot District.
The meeting, chaired by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah also approved the fund for restoration of damaged infrastructure due to the floods in the district.     Briefing the media after the Cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister said that elected representatives from Umerkot would be given development schemes worth Rs28 million. He said that 15,000 tractors would be given to the growers of Sindh on subsidized rates.
To a question about the minorities, he said, “special measures would be taken if they feel insecurity anywhere in the province.” To another question, he said many countries including UK and Australia are taking interest in development of Thar coal.
