LAHORE The Muttahida Qaumi Movement has started its welfare project in the City, and as the first step, it has launched ambulance service initially, which would be available outside two public hospitals. A function was held on Sunday for this, and former Nazim Karachi Mustafa Kamal inaugurating the service. He mentioned that in the beginning, the ambulances would be available outside the Services, and Lahore General hospitals, and the project would be extended to other areas later on. While talking about the MQM, he said the party entered into politics with an aim to introduce the poor into power corridors. MQM is the only political party of Pakistan, which started its journey as a welfare organisation in 1979 prior to becoming part of the political arena in 1984, he added.
