ISLAMABAD - Inspector General of Police, Bani Amin Khan, while chairing a meeting of police officers on Tuesday, gave deadline of 15 days to all heads of police stations as well as supervisory officers to ensure quality working environment, besides provision of quality mess to employees and proper maintenance of whole record.

In his special directions during a meeting here on Tuesday, he directed all heads for enhanced working environment at police stations, repair and construction of boundary walls, provision of quality mess and recreation facilities to the employees.

The IGP said that quality working environment for the policemen is his top priority and he would ensure it. AIG (Operations) Tahir Alam Khan, SSP Islamabad Muhammad Yousuf Malik, SSP (Traffic) Dr Moeen Masood, all SPs, all SDPOs and SHOs were present on the occasion.  He said that surprise visits of police stations would be conducted by him and AIG (Operations) Tahir Alam Khan while strict action would be taken against the police officials if found involved not following his directions.

Senior Superintendent of Police Muhammad Yousuf Malik briefed the IGP regarding crime situation in the city and steps being taken to curb it.

According to a press note issued by the office of IGP, the chief police officer directed police officials to take effective steps to control crime and adopt a professional as well as responsible attitude to mitigate the sufferings of the people. He ordered the police officials to ensure eight hours duty of policemen at pickets, brief them on regular basis and keep them alert to avoid any untoward incident.

He stressed for speedy disposal of cases and their investigation purely on merit. Policing is a service-oriented job and every police official must serve the humanity with devotion,” the IGP maintained.

He reviewed the progress of all police officials and said that an effective strategy is vital to control crime. He also ordered to ensure arrest of proclaimed offender and other criminals involved in crimes of heinous nature and are still at large.  He directed to focus on resolving public complaints and take every possible step to provide maximum relief to citizens.

He said those police officials responsible in delaying the registration of cases and doing sluggish investigation would not be spared and strict disciplinary action would be taken against them.

Meanwhile, SSP Muhammad Yousuf Malik said that Islamabad Police are determined to ensure protection to the lives and property of the citizens and no stone will be leave unturned to accomplish this responsibility.

He also directed all police officials performing duties at police stations to improve their performance and address the grievances of the masses on immediate basis following the merit to win the confidence and support of the people for cops’ department.
