Tareen declines IGP Balochistan posting

LAHORE – Additional Inspector General of Police Punjab Aslam Tareen has declined to accept the offer of his posting as the IGP Balochistan and requested the federal government to allow him to continue his service in the Punjab.
Police sources said the federal government had decided to appoint Additional IG Aslam Tareen as the IGP Balochistan and contacted the officer to take him into confidence. In response to the offer, Aslam Tareen requested the federal government that he was willing to serve in the Punjab Police under the leadership of IGP Muhammad Habibur Rehman.
A police officer told TheNation on Tuesday that the IGP during the RPOs conference thanked Aslam Tareen for playing his key role in improving the functioning of the police department.
