GARHI KHUDA BAKHSH - The 33rd death anniversary of former prime minister and founder of PPP Zulfikar Ali Bhutto is being observed at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh today (Wednesday).

Convoys and rallies of the PPP workers from all over the country have reached Garhi Khuda Bakhsh. The PPP expects that tens of thousands of party workers and loyalists to Bhuttos would pay their respect to their leaders at the mausoleum of Bhuttos. 

Six thousand policemen and 1,000 Rangers personnel, women police, traffic police along with bomb disposal squad and commandos have been deputed in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh. Several reception and welcome camps have been set up in Larkana at different points and routes leading to Garhi Khuda Bakhsh and Naudero to accommodate the leaders and workers from all the four provinces, AJK and Gilgit-Baltistan. PPP sources said the occasion would provide an opportunity to the workers to renew commitment to continue ZA Bhutto’s mission and hold the banner of democracy.

Meanwhile, Presid.ent Asif Ali Zardari visited his Mazar here on Tuesday. He was accompanied by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari. President Asif Ali Zardari laid a floral wreath and offered Fateha. He also visited the Mazar of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, laid floral wreath and offered Fateha.

He also recited verses from the Holy Quran for some time.

The President also visited the Mazar of Madar-i-Jamhoriat, Begum Nusrat Bhutto, laid a floral wreath and offered Fateha.

He visited the graves of Shaheed Murtaza Bhutto and Shaheed Shahnawaz Bhutto, laid floral wreaths and offered Fateha. President Zardari was also accompanied by Interior Minister Rehman Malik.

Former Chairman of the Senate, Farooq H Naek, was also present on the occasion.
