KARACHI- Police today arrested a person for throwing acid on her wife in Shoe Market area of Garden.

According to police, the incident occurred outside a local hospital in Shoe Market, where the wife went to take her medicines. Taking advantage of the situation, the accused husband, Mohammad Zahid, along with her brother Faraz threw acid on his wife, he said. The police said that it was a family dispute between the two as husband wanted to marry another women without divorcing the first one while her wife was demanding divorce from him. The woman was shifted to Burns Ward of Civil Hospital Karachi where doctors said that her condition was stable and the burn injuries only affected four percent of her body. Meanwhile, the police arrested accused brother Faraz for his involvement in the act while the main culprit was on the run. An FIR 76/14 was also registered in the in Garden police station against two culprits and police were searching for the main accused.
