CM hails Dolphin Force

LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif is all praise for newly-inducted Dolphin Force which is patrolling the city streets to combat crimes.
A Dolphin Force squad from Shadman sector, which arrested three robbers in a high speed chase, met the Chief Minister yesterday. They included Sector Incharge Waqar Afzal, Waqas Safdar, Ashgar Ali, Sajid Majeed and Abdul Rehman.
Appreciating the capabilities of Dolphin Force, the chief minister gave commendatory certificates and cash prizes to the police personnel.
Speaking on the occasion, Shehbaz Sharif said that by taking timely action against criminal elements, the Dolphin Force performed their duties efficiently and according to people’s expectations.
“This Dolphin Force has been brought to the field after providing best training and prepared with resources of billions of rupees. Citizens have high expectations from this new force that will protect their life and properties,” said CM Shehbaz.
He further urged the Dolphins to perform their duties honestly in future as well, becoming real protectors of the people by controlling street crime. “By rendering their duties, they will be blessed in this world and the world hereafter.
“If they will move forward with this much passion, they will definitely succeed and street crimes will be controlled. Moreover, they will win the hearts of the people,” he added.
The CM also maintained that the Dolphin Force was not for any protocol duty, but prepared for safeguarding life and property of common man and giving sense of protection to common man.
He also directed the Dolphin Force to reject any kind of pressure, bribe, dishonesty or nepotism as these are evils which they will have to remove for providing justice to the masses. “You are not only guardian of the citizens but also their friends and well-wishers,” the CM told the Dolphin Force personnel.
Shehbaz, however, warned them against any weakness or greed, as elimination of such culture is their duty.
The CM said he was confident that the new force will earn a big name among the citizens, and would raise the image of Punjab police.
Addressing on the occasion, Inspector General Police said that Dolphin Force has been given modern training in accordance with the vision of CM Shehbaz, and this force is aimed to eliminate street crime.
Inspector General Police Mushtaq Sukhera, CCPO Lahore Capt (r) Amin Vains, DIG Operations Dr Haider Ashraf and SP Dolphin force Syed Karar were also present on the occasion.
Punjab gets Special Economic Zones: Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif yesterday approved the proposal of giving a status of special economic zones to three industrial estates of Punjab - Quaid-e-Azam Apparel Park, M3 Industrial City and Value Addition City.
Presiding over a meeting of Special Economic Zone Authority, the chief minister said that industrial activities and investment would increase in the province with the setting up of special economic zones. He added that facilities were being provided to industrialists and investors on priority basis.
“Promotion of industrial activities and investment will result in generation of new job opportunities,” Shehbaz Sharif hoped and added the Punjab Investment Board has to work more actively for promoting industrial activities and investment.
Punjab government has taken effective steps for promotion of investment in the province and enhancing industrial activities are included in its priorities, he further said.
PIB CEO gave a briefing regarding matters of Special Economic Zone Authority, while Provincial Industries Minister Muhammad Shafiq, Punjab Investment Board Chairman, secretaries and industrialists were also present on the occasion.
