Islamabad - Ministry of Human Rights has proposed five new schemes in the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) of next fiscal year (FY) 2016-17 with a total allocation of Rs 255 million to protect rights of all without any discrimination.

The new schemes included `Establishment of National Institute of Human Rights at Islamabad’ with the total cost of Rs 250 while the proposed allocation for FY 2016-17 will be Rs 150 million, official sources told APP.

The second project is `Implementation on Action Plan on Human Rights in Pakistan’ with the total allocation of Rs. 50 million and for next fiscal budget is the demanded amount is Rs. 25 million. The next project is `Establishment of Human Rights Management Information System’ with a total cost of Rs 50 million with an amount of Rs 15 million for next PSDP.

The other project is `Construction/Purchase of land for National Child Protection Complex Islamabad’, with a total allocation of Rs 150 million including Rs. 43 million for the next financial year. The last project is `Establishment of two psycho Social Support/Child Protection Centres, Islamabad’ with a total allocation of Rs. 59.397 million urging Rs. 22 million for the next fiscal year. The ministry has also proposed two ongoing schemes worth Rs 120 million for the budgetary allocation of next fiscal year. The ongoing schemes included `Establishment of Helpline for Legal Advice on Human Rights Islamabad’ with a total allocation of Rs 37.603 million, urging an amount of Rs. 20 million for the fiscal year 2016-17.

The other project is `Construction of working women hostel at G-6/2 and G-7/3 Islamabad’ with a total amount of Rs. 273 million while the demanded allocation for the next PSDP is Rs. 100 million.

Meanwhile, Family Protection and Rehabilitation Centre for Women (FPRCW) Islamabad has allocates an amount of Rs 773,000 for free legal assistance to needy and poor litigants women in last three years. The centre is a subordinate office of Ministry of Human Rights for extending legal aid to needy and poor litigant women, official sources told APP.

They informed that Rs 165,408 allocated for Fiscal Year (FY) 2013-14, Rs 149.033 for FY 2014-15 and Rs 2015-16 for FY 2015-16. In fiscal year 2013-14 Rs 102,000 sanctioned in the budget while an additional amount of Rs 271,000 has been provided by re-appropriation after budget. The amount spend so far during July, 2013 to December 2015, is Rs 564,441.

They stated that in 2013-14, as many as 71 beneficiaries were benefitted through the fund, while 65 in 2014-15 and 138 beneficiaries so far from July 2015 to March 2016.
