Sargodha University, Quaid-e-Azam University and University of Lahore started All-Pakistan Inter-University Women Football Championship 2016 campaign on winning note, after defeating their respective opponents on the inaugural day of the event held at Pakistan Sports Complex Sunday.

HEC is organising the championship, in which 15 universities of the country are participating while Preston University is the host of the event. On first day, Sargodha University thanks to a brace from Uzma and a goal each by Farhat Bstool and Ansa hammered Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan 4-0. Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad beat GC University Faisalabad 3-0. Versha Alizai, Warda Alizai and Hira Amir scored a goal each for the winners. University of Lahore beat COMSATS University 2-0. Mobira and Farheea were scorers.
