LAHORE - Army operation was the only option to confront resurgence of terrorism in Punjab, PML-Q senior leader Chaudhary Pervaiz Elahi said yesterday while talking to media at his residence.

The provincial government had not made a single effort to implement NAP agenda to purge Punjab of remains of the terror networks, providing them an opportunity to resurface, alleged Elahi.

The ruling party to cover its failures on poor law and order situation in Punjab made efforts through its supporters to make the army operation controversial in the name of democracy, he added.

The rulers who had failed to provide security to people of Lahore despite prior intelligence alert, had also failed to provide proper and speedy health facilities to the injured, claimed the PML-Q leader.
