LAHORE - On 37th death anniversary of PPP founder Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, party convoys from Punjab left for Garhi Khuda Bakhsh yesterday amid revolutionary songs being played at full volume.

In Lahore, President PPP central Punjab Mian Manzoor Ahmad Wattoo, Lahore chapter president Samina Khalid Ghurki and Secretary Information Faisal Mir were present at the departure points to see off workers from different zones of the city.

Riding on buses and cars decorated with party flags and flexes, party activists were chanting slogans "Zinda Hay Bhutto Zinda Hay";Tum Kitnay Bhutto Maro Gay Har Ghar Say Bhutto Niklay Ga";Mazdoor Ka Bhutto Zinda Hay, Kissan Ka Bhutto Zinda Hay.

Manzoor Wattoo on this occasion said that workers’ enthusiasm to mark the day was reflective of their great love for their leader who sacrificed his life for democracy and peoples’ rights. Samina Ghurki said that Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto was the first leader in Pakistan who gave recognition to the common man and fought for their rights. While seeing off a party convoy from PP Zone-154, Secretary Information PPP Lahore Faisal Mir said that after 37 years of hanging of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto not a single politician or political worker in Pakistan wanted to associate himself with Gen. Zia Ul Haq. While millions of people from all across Pakistan travel to the mausoleum of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto every year, a few visit Zia’s grave on his death anniversary, he added. Mir believed that Bhutto was an undisputed hero in the eyes of almost all the politicians of Pakistan and Bhutto factor was going to stay constant in Pakistani politics forever.

PPP leaders Dr.Zarrar Yusaf and Mian Aslam also led convoys of workers from their zones. A large number of workers from Lahore also left for Garhi Khuda Bakhsh on different trains and cars to pay tribute to the party founder.
