Women among 7 perish in car-truck collision

Seven persons including four women were killed and seven others sustained critical injuries in a car and truck collision here on Jhang-Khushab Road in Kot Shakir area on Sunday.
According to the police, the dead were mostly devotees who were going to the shrine of Hazrat Bahu Sultan. The car crashed with a truck, coming from the opposite direction after its driver lost control due to speeding.
The recue sources informed that the accident resulted in the immediate death of four women, the car driver and two men.
The injured and dead bodies were shifted to Jhang District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) by Rescue-1122.
According to doctors, condition of two of the injured is critical.
However, identity of the dead and injured could not be ascertained till filling of this report.
The police registered a case of the incident and started further investigation.
TWO ARMY JAWANS, TWO OTHERS KILLED
In Khanewal, four persons including two security personnel died in different incidents here the other day.
According to the police, two army men - Jumma Khan, son of Rabi Khan, a resident of Faisalabad and Zahid, son of Allah Ditta, a resident of Jhang, currently posted in Multan Cantt were on the way to their homes to spend holidays on a bike. As they reached near toll plaza on Kabirwala-Jhang Road about, some 20-km from here, a speeding trailer, coming from the opposite direction hit the bike. In the meanwhile, another trailer, coming from Kabirwala direction, crushed both the motorcyclists. As a result they sustained critical injuries and breathed their last on the spot. Both the trailers drivers succeeded in fleeing the scene.
The dead bodies of both the army men were shifted to CMH Multan for legal proceedings and autopsy. In another incident three deaf and dumb friends - Adeel, Muhammad Irfan and Muhammad Samran were taking a bathe in a canal near pull Bagar. All of sudden one of them Adeel, son of Shareef Dogar, a resident of Chak 6/AH Makhdoompur went into deep water and drowned. On information, Rescue 1122 team rushed to the spot and started search for the dead body. In Village 96/15L of Tehsil Main Channu, a cruel youth killed his father over land dispute. The police said that Anwar opened fire on his father Bashir over agriculture land dispute. The man died on the spot and the accused fled the scene. The police have started investigation into the incident.
