KARACHI The final of the Quaid-e-Azam Gold Cup Hockey, which was to be played here Tuesday afternoon at the HCP between Wapda and NBP, has been postponed due to the law and order situation in the city, the organisers Pakistan Customs announced here. The new date of the match will be announced later. Wapda moved into the title contention after defeating HBL on sudden death penalty strokes after playing one-all draw in full and extended time. The result was three-all after penalty stroke session on Monday afternoon. In the other semi-final of the nine team competition played on Monday afternoon, NBP fought its way to 2-1 win over Pakistan Steels. Pakistan Customs hosted the championship in which nine teams took part after Balochistan and Army withdrew for different reasons. The Ghanaian Customs team took part in the competition on special invitation from its Pakistani counterpart. This was first time that a Ghanaian hockey team of any kind visited Pakistan to play.
