OUR STAFF REPORTER SIALKOT - The heirs of Muhammad Shahid, who was allegedly tortured to death by Pasrur police a week ago, have alleged that the police were providing VIP protocol to the dismissed police officials nominated in the case. Talking to the media, the victims relatives said that the police were providing VIP protocol to the accused including former station head officer Malik Mukhtar and keeping them in a VIP Block at Sialkot Cantt police station. The heirs expressed a fear that in such situation there was no chance of providing them with justice. They urged the Punjab chief minister to take stern legal action against all the accused policemen who and their companions were threatening the grieved family with the dire consequences. Meanwhile, Pasrur Civil Judge Malik Ashfaq has given a week-long judicial remand of the four accused including the former SHO, former sub-inspector Rehmat Ali, former ASI Abdul Rasheed and former constable Murtaza, The police produced the accused before the court amid tight security. On the other side, the police officials said that the accused had been shifted there to avert any untoward incident. Likewise, a probing team reached Pasrur to hold inquiry about this brutal killing. The team was probing following the order of the Punjab inspector general of police. The team recorded the statements of the accused and other policemen of Pasrur City police station. The team also inspected the spot where the youth was brutally tortured to death. According to the autopsy report, the deceased was tortured brutally, as his several bones and ribs were fractured during the torture. The team told the newsmen that the investigation of this case would be made on merit and all the accused would be brought to task for this extra-judiciary killing. The team will submit his detailed inquiry report before the Punjab CM within a couple of days.
