ISLAMABAD (INP) - The Election Commission of Pakistan again drawn attention of political parties asking them to submit details of their accounts by August 29 in the ECPs Office. Under Article 13 of the Political Order 2002, every political party shall submit the details of their accounts statements to the ECP within 60 days from the end of each financial year. According to the ECP, August 29would be the last date for filing statement of accounts by political parties.A certificate signed by party chief must accompany the statement of accounts stating that no funds from any sources prohibited under the Political Parties Order 2002 were received by (the) partyand that the statement contains an accurate financial position of (the) party. Prescribed printed forms are available free of cost in the Election Commission Secretariat Islamabad and in the offices of provincial election commissioners, Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. It may be added here that in terms of Article 14 of the Political Party Order 2002, a party which fails to submit its statement of accounts under Article 13 will not be eligible to obtain election symbol for contesting in the parliament and provincial assemblies. The statements are required to be delivered to the ECP secretary at the ECP Secretariat, Constitutional Avenue, Islamabad, through a party office-bearer.The statements received through post, fax, courier service or any other mode will not be entertained.
