OUR STAFF REPORTER NOORPUR THAL - PML-N district President Dr Ghous Muhammad Khan Niazi has said that unprincipled politics has led Thal into troubled waters. He was addressing the PML-N workers convention, which was held here the other day. In past, representatives could not fulfil their promises made to the people of Thal, he said adding that majority of inhabitants of Thal spending their lives below the poverty line. Talking about the miseries and sufferings of the people of Thal, he said that development of the area was linked with utmost struggle of the politicians of concerning the area, but they could not do so. Dr Niazi said that bringing Thal on par with other developed areas and raising living standard of its people is part of the agenda of PML-N MNA and MPA and no stone would be left unturned in this regard. On the occasion, addressing PML-N MNA Malik Shabir Bashir Awan said that wrong and self-centered decisions of political forces in the post had adversely hurt the countrys sovereignty and stability. We have not learnt any lesson from the past mistakes and therefore we are suffering today, he added. The people are suffering from price hike, unemployment electricity and gas loadshedding, he further said. The PML-N MNA said the issues facing the Thal today were extraordinary and people of the Thal were deprived of basic facilities. He further said that provision of basic facilities to the people of Thal is my top priority and no stone would be left unturned in this regard. PML-N local leader advocate Malik Aziz Hussain Jara in his speech thanked head of PML-N Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for nomination of Dr Ghous Muhammad Khan Niazi, as PML N district president. He said that new PML-N office leaders to shoulder heavier responsibilities, for organising the party and ensure welfare of the masses. PML-N Youth Wing Tehsil President Malik Sikander Hayat Baghoor, General Secretary Malik Gulbaz Jora, former Chairman Municipal Committee Mitha Tiwan Sahibzada Qazi Muhammad Iqbal, former PML-N Tehsil President Malik Manzoor Ahmad Baga, Lamberdar Malik Sher Bhadar Baghoor, organizer PML-N City Malik Nasir Ali Juger and other social workers Raja Muhammad Amin and Raja Muhammad Yaqoob also attended the convention. AC visits Sasta Ramazan Bazaar: Assistant Commissioner Haji Mehboob Ahmad visited Sasta Ramazan Bazaar which has been established by Tehsil Administration at Kashmir Chowk. He inspected the arrangements and facilities being provided to the citizens. On the occasion, he directed special price control magistrates to perform their duties with responsibility to check the prices of essential commodities including implementation of the Eehtram-e-Ramzan Ordinance. He further said that nobody should be allowed to violate it. The Assistant Commissioner directed that hotels, restaurants and canteens at markets should remain closed till the Iftar timing. He ordered the officials concerned to come down hard on profiteers and hoarders to provide relief to the common man. He also warned that such elements would be dealt with sternly. On the occasion, the Assistant Commissioner told the media that police, revenue departments and TMA staff had been assigned their respective duties to ensure smooth and transparent supply of essential commodities. TMO Raja Zahoor Ahmad, TO-I Haji Ehsan Ahmad, TO-R Malik Atta Ullah Tiwana, TO-F Hamid Jaleel and Tehsildar Rafiq Gill were also present on this occasion. Meanwhile, TMO Raja Zahoor Ahmad also told the media that a complaint cell had been set up in Ramazan Bazaar to provide all possible relief to the masses. He further told that local traders have set up their stalls in Sasta Ramazan Bazaar where pulses, ghee, sugar and other essential commodities are available at subsidized rates. The market committee has also established fair price shops where vegetables, fruits and dates are available.
