Villagers shoot dead three robbers

OUR STAFF REPORTER TOBA TEK SINGH - Three alleged robbers were shot dead by villagers in Chak 517/GB Rajana here. The robbers stormed into the house of one Suleman, who offered resistance and called for help. In response, they attempted to flee by opening aerial firing but the villagers sprayed bullets on them. Afterwards, Rajana police shifted them to DHQ Hospital but one of them died on his way to hospital whilst the two others succumbed to their wounds in the hospital. So far, the bodies could not be identified. The Rajana Police have registered two separate case - one against unknown persons for murdering the three dacoits and another against deceased dacoits for looting the house. SDO SEEKS JUSTICE: SDO (Irrigation) Naveed Akbar Virk has submitted an application to the DPO for getting a case registered against 35 farmers of Chak 407 JB, Gojra, for allegedly attacking and injuring some Irrigation Departments officials. He stated in his complaint that the DCO had ordered restoration of tampered outlets of Khinoura canal. He added that when his staff members including two sub-engineers Rana Ameer Ali and Saiful Sajjad and four others went on August 1 to the said village to restore and repair tampered outlet, one Saud Khalid and his 34 accomplices attacked and injured all employees who were admitted in DHQ Hospital. He blamed that the accused also damaged levelling machine worth Rs150,000 and snatched four mobile phones.
