KARACHI - Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi on Friday staged protest demonstration against the killings of Muslims in Myanmar and demanded the government to cut diplomatic ties with Myanmar forthwith in protest against the genocide of Muslims.
The protest demonstration was held outside a local mosque in Karachi on the appeal of JI Pakistan chief Munawar Hassan. The demo was addressed by the JI leaders Muhammad Hussain Mahenti, Naseem Siddiqui, Nasarullah Khan Shajee and others.
Holding placards and banners with words against Myanmar government, the enraged protestors chanted slogans against United Nations, Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and West for their criminal mum over ongoing bloodshed of Muslims in Burma.
Addressing the protestors, JI Karachi chief Muhammad Hussain Mahenti vehemently condemned the dual standards of international community and demanded the Pakistani government to immediately summon the Myanmar Ambassador to protest against the killings of Muslims in Myanmar and cut diplomatic ties with Myanmar forthwith.
He condemned the brutality of Myanmar government against Muslim women, men and children adding that so far a total of 30,000 innocent Muslim were martyred whereas 300 mosques were locked by the Buddhists.
At least 90,000 Muslims, who were managed to flee Burma, were stranded along with the borders of Bangladesh and Malaysia, but, unfortunately Muslim rulers, the OIC and the UN kept criminal mum over the plight of the Muslims.
He urged the Muslim rulers to raise their voice against Myanmar government’s butchery and also summon the meeting of the OIC. He said that the UN had become the puppet of Jews, who always supported violence against Muslim community.
Mehanti demanded the religious and political parties of the country to hold joint protest march against the genocide of Muslims in Myanmar, saying that Jamaat-e-Islami has always raised the voice for the oppressed people of the world.
“Muslim countries and rulers should raise their voice in support of Muslims of Myanmar,” he added.
Addressing the demonstration, the JI leaders demanded the government to end diplomatic relations with Burma and register strong protest against ongoing killings of Muslims there. The leaders of JI reiterated that Muslim world should be united at one platform and build up diplomatic pressure on Myanmar for stopping this heinous crime.
OSF SUPPORTS 100 FAMILIES DURING RAMAZAN: Omair Sana Foundation, an NGO, has supported more than 100 families with “Tuhfah-e-Ramazan Programme” comprises flour, rice, sugar, rice, oil, dates, spices, pulses and other edibles.
According to the official of the foundation, following the tradition to support the needy and impoverished families the charity programme was initiated for the needy families; many thalassaemia families were among the beneficiaries
Families of thalassaemia and hemophilia patients were also benefited with this programme. Obaid Hashmi, Dr Saifur Rehman and lmtiaz Malik, Izharuddin and others were present on the occasion.
OSF Joint Secretary Obaid Hashmi said that Omair Sana Foundation was working for eradication of Thalassaemia since 10 years.
Meanwhile, Karachi University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Qaiser, on behalf of the Academic Council and Syndicate, has approved the award of PhD degree in Biochemistry to Farhat Bano. As per the KU announcement the said approval was made on August 3 which has already been recommended by the BASR.
