Dengue larvae found at Yum restaurant

LAHORE: A case has been registered against the owner and management of Yum Chinese restaurant in Gulberg area, after detection of dengue mosquito larvae from its premises.
According to Environment Secretary Dr Iqbal Muhammad Chuhan, the department has, so far, inspected 23,243 places in all nine towns of Lahore. 416 notices were issued while 35 FIRs were registered against the owners of different tyre shops/warehouses, scrap yards and under-construction sites’ owners for not adopting dengue control measures during the past seven months, he said.
Special squads inspected 53,626 places in other districts, he added.
Naseem Shah, Director Environmental Health Dengue Control, told The Nation that nine squads have been visiting the places under the supervision of District Officer Younas Zahid and updating progress report and copies of FIRs on the newly-launched Dengue Android Software.–Staff Reporter
