AWARAN - Armed assailants gunned down two educators in different localities of Awaran district on Wednesday.

Levies sources said that unidentified men equipped with arms barged into the house of Rehmatullah, a retired schoolteacher, and opened indiscriminate fire on him in Mashkey area of Awaran. Rehmatullah was killed on the spot and the assailants fled after committing the crime.

In another incident, gunmen shot dead a deputy education officer (DEO) Muhammad Saleem Shehwani inside his house in Nokajo area of the district and fled.  The bodies were shifted to different hospitals for postmortem and the police, after registering separate cases at respective police stations, started investigation.

Meanwhile, security forces and intelligence agencies recovered large cache of weapons and explosives in Barkhan district of Balochistan, likely to be used in a terrorist attack.

Security forces foiled the terror plot on Wednesday ahead of the Independence Day, as they recovered a large quantity of weapons and explosives piled up at Seekhnam area of Barkhan district.

The weaponry included four anti-tank mines, nine rocket-propelled grenades, five remote-controlled bombs, detonators and other material likely to be used in a terror attack.

A spokesman of Frontier Constabulary said the terrorists were collecting the explosives to carry out their activities of sabotage on Independence Day.

FOUR MEMBERS OF SAME FAMILY SHOT DEAD IN NASEERABAD

Four members of same family were killed while a woman was injured in the firing by rivals in Osta Muhammad city of Nseerabad. A young man Habibullah son of Muhammad Bukhsh who hailed from the same family was murdered in the name of honour last year.

The poor labourer had registered an FIR against the suspects of Habibullah’s murder but the influential suspects kept threatening the poor labourer to take back the case.

Muhammad Bukhsh refused to get threatened and kept seeking justice and on Wednesday the influential suspects barged into Muhammad Bukhsh’s house and started firing indiscriminately killing him, his wife Naziran, 13-year-old daughter Karisha, and three-year-old son Ali Haider.

Another woman Nehal Bibi was also injured and she was rushed to hospital.

Police have taken the bodies in its possession and started investigations.
