CJP orders to submit report on girls' schools attack in GB

The Chief Justice of Pakistan took sou moto notice on Saturday of the attack on 12 girls' schools targeted in Chilas on Thursday night.

Chief Justice Saqib Nisar has ordered the Gilgit government, secretary Azad Jammu and Kashmir and secretary interior to present reports within the next 48 hours.

Unidentified men attacked 12 girl’s schools across Diamer district and damaged school property. The attackers also torched some items in the schools on Thursday, police sources said.

The police has arrested at least 16 suspects and registered six cases against unidentified men in the incident.

Caretaker prime minister Justice (retd) Nasir-ul-Mulk strongly condemned the incident and directed to bring the perpetrators to justice. PM Mulk ordered relevant authorities to present a report on the attack on girls' schools in Chilas.

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan took social media to condemned the attack on school.
