PESHAWAR - At least five persons were killed and several others, including four women, injured on Wednesday amidst the continuing violence in different parts of Swat District. According to sources in ISPR, a personnel of the security forces was killed and two others were injured when armed militants attacked a convoy of the security forces. Security forces also retaliated but no casualty has been reported on the part of the militants. However, security forces blew up two militants' houses with improvised explosive devices in Kanjo area. Moreover, nine persons were injured when forces hit the militants' suspected hideouts with artillery guns in Dewlai area of Kabal. Four women were also among the injured persons. The injured have been identified as Naheed, Akbar Khan, Abubakar, Adnan, Syed Rahman, Adnan, Hashmat and Adia. All the injured persons have been rushed to Saidu Sharif Hospital for medical treatment. In another incident of violence, some unknown armed militants gunned down a person, namely Syed Shah, in Nave Kaly area of Kabal. Police have registered FIR against the unknown persons. Similarly, two men were killed and three others injured in Fewchar area of Tehsil Matta when mortars shells hit their houses. Meanwhile, Taliban have threatened to demolish the schools in the area if the teachers and students did not wear Islamic dresses and get their hair cut according to Sharia. The militants held face-to-face discussions with the teachers of a government school in this regard.
