LAHORE - Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif inquired after the 9-year-old girl, who was subjected to criminal assault, of Faqirwali village at District Headquarters Hospital, Bahawalnagar. The CM ordered trial of the case in Anti-Terrorist Court and issued instructions to police to send the challan to the court immediately. He assured the parents of the ill-fated child that justice will be given to the victim and the perpetrator of the heinous crime will be awarded maximum punishment under the law. He also gave cash assistance of Rs 0.5m to the aggrieved family and issued instructions for the enrollment of the two younger brothers of the girl in Danish School, Chishtian. The CM directed the DCO Bahawalnagar for the repair of the ancestral house of the affected family. The disabled father of the girl, Latif, who was in tears, informed the CM about the details of the incident and appealed for justice. He said that he was a poor vendor and supports his family by selling vegetables. The CM directed the district police officer to complete the challan of the case and send it to the court so that the culprit could be awarded punishment. Inspector General Police Tariq Saleem Dogar, regional police officer and commissioner Bahawalpur were also present on the occasion.
