MURIDKE Regional Police Officer Sheikhupura Region Rai Altaf Hussain stressed upon the ulema to play their role to promote unity among the people. While addressing a Press conference, he declared 565 processions and 1535 Majalis are scheduled to be taken out in districts of Sheikhupura, Kasur and Nankana Sahib which has been divided in two categories including 46-A and B-11. Unity, fraternity, brotherhood and harmony among different sects are necessary to foil the nefarious designs of anti-state elements during Muharram, he added. He said that Islam was religion of peace and tranquility and it did not allow bloodshed of humanity. RPO urged upon the officials concerned to ensure implementation of the Amplifier Act in true sense. He affirmed that 5246 officers, 2000 officials of special police force and 1474 volunteers would perform their duty for making foolproof security arrangements in Sheikhupura region. He assured that contingents of Rangers and Pakistan Army would also be deployed in the sensitive areas when required. The government also arranged for sniffer dogs for searching the route of Muharram processions besides walk through gates and CCTV cameras for Muharram security. He also issued directives to all tehsil municipal administrators to repair routes of Muharram procession Majalis besides removing all types of illegal encroachments.
