OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE Chief Traffic Officer SSP Syed Ahmed Mobin has distributed cheques worth over Rs 2.7 million among the heirs of those traffic wardens, who had rendered their lives in the line of performing duties herein the provincial capital. According to the City Traffic Police spokesman, a special ceremony was organised at Thokar Niaz Baig Police Lines whereon the CTO flanked by other senior officers gave cheques of Rs 0.5 million to Misbah Younas, widow of deceased Warden Mehmood Ahmed, and to Naseem Akhtar, mother of deceased Warden Abdul Qadeer. Similarly, the CTO distributed cheques worth Rs 300, 000 to the father of deceased Warden Zahid Mehmood, Rs 300, 000 to Zahida Parveen, widow of traffic constable Masood Khan, Rs 300, 000 to Muhammad Rafiq, father of Warden Khadim Hussain, Rs 150, 000 to Sabira Bibi and Rs 150, 000 to Sadia Bibi, mother and widow of deceased Warden namely Sadaqat Ali. Addressing the ceremony, the CTO Captain Mobin said our relation with their heirs of such brave and gallant traffic Wardens would never die. We are with you standing shoulder to shoulder in each moment of joy and sorrow, the CTO added. He said that such police officers are always precious assets of each uniformed force and the City Traffic Police will remember their services and sacrifices till the end of the day. This unique step initiated for the welfare and prosperity of the heirs of the deceased traffic wardens was lauded at the end.
