JHANG - Six people, including three police officials, were killed and four sustained serious injuries in separate incidents here in different parts of the district over the last 24 hours.

According to details, three policemen were killed in a shootout with absconders in Chak 175/JB of the district while a combatant was also killed in the incident. 

The Mochiwala Police raided to swoop on an absconder, Ramzan Baloch alias Ramzani, wanted in several cases of murder and robbery.

Ramzan and his accomplices, finding now escape, opened fried at police, killing constable Abdul Razaaq on the scene, while constable Khuda Bakhsh died on the way to hospital and ASI Liaqat Naul breathed his last in Allied Hospital, Faisalabad. An accomplice of Ramzani Bloch, identified as Sohail, was also killed in the firing.

Constables Nazir and Arshed, besides a passer by women also got injured in the clash.

The fringing between the police and outlaws continued for a long time and Jhang DPO reinforced his men with another contingent of police.

Separately, a man, Aslam shah, died on Jhang-Chiniot Road in an accident.

Aslam Shah and Bilal shah, resident of Jhang, were returning from their farm when the driver could not control the car and it collided with a tree near Adda Mukhiana.

Aslam died on the spot while Bilal was transported to DHQ Hospital in critical condition by Rescue 1122 personnel.

In another road mishap, a passenger van ran over a man standing on the bus stop. The deceased, Muzafar Abbas, was waiting for bus on Adda Madhani Jutt when a passenger van ran him down.

The Mochiwala Police have registered a case against deriver Muhammad Aslam.
