LAHORE (PR) –Government should chalk out a programme to wipe out the poverty and unemployment of youth and widening gap between the rich and Poor. The demand was voiced at a large meeting of the representatives of workers under the aegis of Pakistan Workers Confederation (Punjab Chapter) presided over by Mrs Rubeena Jami1, President of the Confederation. At this occasion trade union leader Khurshid Ahmed urged the working class to forge their unity for defeating terrorism.

By a resolution, government urged for raising old age benefit amount commensurate with price-hike and providing continuous free medical treatment under Social Security Scheme to workers and their families after the retirement.
