Police net 40 outlaws


SHEIKHUPURA - The district police busted more than 40 proclaimed offenders and court absconders during a crackdown launched on anti-social elements across the district.
The police also recovered huge quantity of illicit weapons, contraband and liquor from their possession.
Talking to The Nation here in his office, DPO Rana Abdul Jabbar disclosed that the A Division Police arrested 12 suspected people and recovered 20 litres of wine and arms from them. The Saddr Police nabbed 7 proclaimed offenders and recovered 200 gram of hashish and illicit weapons while the Housing Colony Police arrested 5 court absconders. The DPO said that the Bhiki Police swooped down drug traffickers and recovered 2 kgs of hashish from them. He said that the Safdarabad Police had also arrested two proclaimed offenders and recovered weapons from their possession while the Farooqabad City Police also arrested five suspected criminals. Similarly, the Factory Area Police also arrested Akram, Jehangir and other proclaimed offenders who involved in different heinous crimes while the Ferozewala Police arrested Bilal, Rizwan, Ameer and Jehangir and recovered 2.5 gram of hashish from their custody. On the other hand, the City Muridke Police also arrested 9 people and recovered 9 mm pistol, 12 bore pump action, 44 bore rifle, repeater 12 bore from their possession while the Narang Mandi Police arrested 2 proclaimed offenders and recovered 200 gram of hashish from their possession.
The DPO claimed that the arrested POs had becomes a sign of terror, fear and created harassment across the district. He pointed out that the outlaws had been arrested made during overnight raids all over the district.
