LAKKI MARWAT - PPP activists took out a rally in Naurang town on Monday to mark the 45th birth anniversary of their party.

PPP District President Iqbal Hussain led the rally, which started from Degree College and converged at Pasban Plaza after passing through different bazaars.

Speaking on the occasion, Iqbal Hussain and other party leaders said that PPP was the only political party that rendered sacrifices for democracy and rule of law in the country. They said that the dictatorial regimes could not wash out love for Bhuttos from the hearts of people.

“Bhuttoism is still alive because the party formed by Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto empowered poor segments of society”, they maintained. They further said that after assuming the office of provincial president of PPP, Anwar Saifullah has injected a new spirit to the workers and launched practical steps to strengthen the party in the province. 

They pledged that under the leadership of President Asif Ali Zardari and Anwar Saifullah Khan the mission of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto would be fulfilled at all costs.

They claimed that PPP would form the future government in the province with Anwar Saifullah Khan as its chief executive to address the problems of party workers and put the province on the track to development.

Two shot dead in incidents

Meanwhile, two people were shot dead in different parts of the district.

The police said that the first incident took place near Tajazai in the jurisdictions of Ghazinkhel police station where a man was killed allegedly by his rivals.

They said that Ismail, a resident of Titterkhel village, came under attack by his rivals when he was waiting for public transport near the Judicial Complex on Lakki-Tajazai road after attending a local court.

The police said that the accused party had a blood feud with the family of the deceased.

In the other incident, which took place in the area limits of Shaheed Haibat Ali Khan police station of Darra Pezu town, a man was killed in his house over a domestic dispute in Aezerkhel village.

The police said that the accused Arifullah, Shafiullah, Asghar and Halim entered the house of one Saeed Khan and opened fires at his son Muhammad Riaz killing him on the spot.

Scores of criminals held, arms recovered

In another development, District Police Officer Muhammad Idrees Khan HAS claimed that THE police force HAS launched successful operation against anti-social elements during the last month and captured scores of wanted criminals.

Talking to journalists in his office, he said that the district police force eliminated the hideouts of criminals’ gangs in different parts of the district.

He said that personnel of Anti-Terror Squad and Elite Force backed by armoured personnel carriers (APC) vehicles also took part in the operation.

The DPO told that the law enforcers arrested 122 proclaimed offenders wanted in murder, attempt to murder, dacoity and other cases. “Besides 452 suspects were held in the operation and shifted to different police stations for identification and interrogation purposes”, he maintained.
