RAWALPINDI–- In recognition of their outstanding performance and to reward the high achievers of secondary school certificate (SSC) examination 2012, SLS Montessori and High School organised an academic excellence award ceremony.

On the occasion, Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) Chairperson Dr Tanvir Kayani was the chief guest. Besides founder and managing director SLS Schools Asiya Talha, Commissioner Inland Revenue Ali Hussain Syed and President of Journalists for International Peace Iftikhar Chaudhry also attended the ceremony.

The ceremony was attended by 150 students achieving distinction, their parents, academicians and intellectuals, informed SLS spokesman here on Monday.  Maham Fazal, Nighar Aisha and Neha Razzaq were the high achievers in 10th class and Rida Fatima, Hafsa Irfan and Huma Khaliq Gauri topped the list in 9th class.

Speaking on the occasion, Asiya Talha recalled the founding of SLS 30 years ago and said that it was by the grace of God and the hard work of many people that made SLS the institution it was today.

Guests were briefed about the extra and co-curricular programmes and activities that SLS and its students are involved in such as iEARN, British Council’s School Linking Programme, Rozan and Aman Ki Asha.  Dr Kayani congratulated the students, teachers and principals who were given shields, medals and certificates.
