To protect the rights of women and redress their complaints regarding domestic torture, the district administration has set a committee, an official said.

Additional District Collector Malik Khadim Jilani in a seminar added that District Education Officer (Secondary) Mehr Aftab Ahmad would be its focal person. He claimed that steps had also been taken to restrain the harassment of working women at their work places.

Speakers stated in the seminar in their speeches that Islam had given due respect and rights to the women but the society had not implemented it. They also said that the government should implement the laws to protect their rights.
