Islamabad - The high-ups of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) were told at a meeting here on Wednesday that only three dengue cases were reported during the month of November in Municipal limits of the CDA due to effective monitoring and massive campaign.

The member administration Capital Development Authority chaired a meeting at CDA headquarters to review ongoing anti-dengue drive in the federal capital. The member administration was apprised that due to effective monitoring and massive campaign, only three dengue cases were reported during the month of November in municipal limits of the CDA. Furthermore, the last dengue case was reported on November 8, 2014. He was informed that specially constituted teams of directorate of health services (DHS) inspected 1,403 potential dengue breeding sites including markets, parks, slums, hospitals and educational institutes in different areas of Islamabad and treated accordingly with anti-mosquito agents and devices.

He also informed that 73 larvacidal activities and channelisation of nullahs/tributaries had also been carried out while, anti-dengue spray and fumigation was also carried out at 989 places.

The member administration directed the DHS to compile a comprehensive report so that in the light of previous experiences, a comprehensive strategy could be evolved for the next year so that dengue menace could be curbed at its early stage.
