LAHORE - Young Doctors Association (YDA) Punjab on Wednesday staged a demonstration at Ferozepur Road outside Lahore General Hospital to press for the demand of restoration of four doctors suspended for alleged negligence in treatment of a patient that led to his death.

Carrying placards and banners inscribed with the demand of restoration of their colleagues, protesting doctors blocked Ferozepur Road for about two hours, causing massive traffic jam at one of the busiest artery in Lahore.

Doctors chanted slogans against the government. YDA leadership vowed to continue protest till acceptance of demand of restoration of suspended doctors and fresh impartial probe of the incident.

One patient, brother of a PML-N MPA, died last month. Committee constituted by Punjab Chief Minister held four doctors and a nurse responsible for the incident. On the recommendation of the committee, doctors and nurse were suspended. After strike at OPD of LGH for the last fortnight, the protesters came out on Ferezepur Road to press for the demand of fresh probe and restoration of suspended doctors.
