Islamabad - As political atmosphere of the country remained cool and calm after Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s November 30 rally, the work on Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metro Bus Project is in full swing.

A senior official of Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) while talking to The Nation said that more than 70 per cent work of the project had been completed.

He said girder launching on three packages of Rawalpindi had been 80 per cent completed.

Procurement of elevators, escalators, glass and aluminium is under process, he said. These elevators and escalators will be installed on all stations of metro bus route from Flashman Hotel to Secretariat.

It has also been learnt that areas along metro bus route will be made green with hanging planters, plants and flowers.

In empty areas green belts will be made. Well-placed sources in the RDA said that 40 different kinds of flowering plants and hanging planters had been provided to the managing director (MD) PHA by a consultant company.
