Islamabad - Rector National University of Modern Languages (NUML) Major General (Retd) Zia ud Din Najam on Thursday inaugurated a Day Care Centre at NUML to facilitate the married female staff of the University. Director General NUML Brig. Riaz Ahmed Gondal, Director Administration Brig. (Retd) Zia ul Hassan Sahi, Hostel Warden (girls) Amberun Nisa and a large number of female faculty members also attended the inaugural ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Rector NUML Major General Zia ud Din Najam said that number of female faculty members in NUML was rapidly increasing, as out of 508 faculty members more than 275 were females and most of them were young married women and have small babies.

Therefore, the establishment of Day Care Centre was necessary to improve the performance of these young faculty members so that they could teach the children with dedication.

The Rector said the centre would help provide better nourishment and training to the babies and establishment of Day Care Centre was a requirement of all professional organisations. He appreciated the efforts made by the management of the Day Care Center.

Director Administration Brig. (Retd) Zia ul Hassan Sahi and Hostel Warden (girls) Miss Amberun Nisa briefed the Rector and D.G about the functioning of newly established Day Care Center and said that center had the capacity to house 20 to 25 babies at a time and it had also playing area, sleeping place, washroom and full-fledged kitchen to prepare foods for kids. They said the establishment of the center was need of the university as the varsity had many young female married teachers.
