New US envoy presents credentials

ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain on Thursday reassured Pakistan cooperation to the international community, including the United States in curbing terrorism. Talking to the new US Ambassador David Hale in Islamabad, he said Pakistan has rendered immense sacrifices in the war against terrorism. He emphasised that the successfully progressing Operation Zarb-e-Azb will continue till the elimination of last terrorist. The President said Pakistan is desirous of further promoting friendly and cordial relations with the United States. He hoped that the new envoy will work for further cementing the relations between the two countries.

Earlier, David Hale presented his credentials to the President. Ambassador Hale thanked President Mamnoon for today’s ceremony and said, “I am honoured to present my credentials as Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan,” he added. He expressed his desire to work with President Mamnoon, Pakistani counterparts, and the Pakistani people to further strengthen American-Pakistani relations, increase trade and people-to-people ties between the two countries, further enhance our security partnership, and advance the broad agenda laid out by President Obama and Prime Minister Sharif when they met in Washington on October 22, 2015.
