99 docs pass out from Shalamar college

LAHORE - As many as 99 graduates were awarded degrees at the second convocation of Shalamar Medical and Dental College yesterday.

The chief guest, Justice (r) Khalilur Rehman Ramday, awarded medals to graduates showing distinction in various subjects.

The first position holder Ifra Naeem was awarded gold medal by the chief guest.

University of Health Sciences Vice Chancellor Prof Muhammad Aslam addressed the convocation as guest of honour. Member Board of trustees Shahid Hussain said the institution has been providing quality healthcare services to the population of Lahore and outskirts since 1978. Now students were getting quality education in medicine/surgery and nursing, he added.

Principal Prof Zahid Bashir congratulated the graduates.

Chairman Board of Trustees Ch Ahmad Saeed, Syed Babar Ali, Ibrar A Mumtaz, Shahbazud Din Choudhary, Chief Executive Brig (r) Anis Ahmed, faculty members, doctors and parents of the students attended the convocation.

The new doctors also took a pledge to serve the ailing humanity with dedication and in accordance with the true spirit of the medical profession.
