Islamabad - The Interior Ministry has directed Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration and Islamabad police to ensure special security arrangements for processions of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH).

According to police sources, a special meeting has been summoned by Deputy Commissioner Islamabad next week to review and finalize security and traffic arrangements in connection with procession of Eid Milad -un -Nabi in the Federal Capital on 12th Rabi-ul-Awal.

According to the initial draft of this security plan to be reviewed  next week, the Assistant Commissioner (City) along with police officials will carry out visit of the route before the start of procession and will ensure comprehensive fool proof security arrangements during the procession.

Standing on the roof tops alongside the procession will not be allowed while the meetings would be arranged in coming week with religious scholars and members of Markazi Milad Committee, Islamabad to get them into confidence about security arrangements.

Four SPs, six ASPs/DSPs, 11 Inspectors will be assigned security duties of the processions and to be assisted by SHO of respective police stations. 

The processions will be completely covered by the policemen form the front and rear side while policemen will perform street plugging duty so that no outsider can enter into the procession.

Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP), the source said, has been directed to devise a special traffic plan to ensure smooth flow of traffic at the time of procession and depute an additional staff of policemen at various locations for the guidance of road users.
