SAHIWAL/KASUR/NOWSHERA VIRKAN-At least 15 persons including three women were killed in incidents of enmity, violence and road accidents over the past 48 hours.
In Sahiwal, seven persons were killed and 16 others injured in different road accidents.
According to rescue sources, a youth died in collision between a tractor-trolley and truck near Khotla Adeeb Shaheed on Sahiwal-Multan Road. The deceased identified as 14-year-old Muhammad Shehzad died on the spot. In another accident, a truck hit a Mazada passenger car, killing a 19-year-old youth Ali Ahmed while van driver Touseef along with 6 persons got seriously injured.
Similarly near Iqbal Nagar bypass, a bus (LIS-2652) overturned while trying to overtake a trailer. Muhammad Ikram, resident of Sialkot, and an unidentified passenger died instantly whereas 43 passengers sustained seriously injuries.
In another accident, a vegetable vendor died in collision between two motorcycles near Chak 12-50/L on Okanawali-Nai Wala Bunglow Road. Abdul Jabbar died on the spot and two other persons were injured seriously.
Near Jehan Khan on Sahiwal-Pakpattan Road, a motorcycle and car collided due to which Muhammad Ramzan, resident of Pakpattan died.
A speeding car rammed into a trailer on Sahiwal-Lahore Road due to which eight persons of a family and car driver Abid Shah sustained seriously injuries. According to doctors, three children among the injured are in critical condition.
Meanwhile, Rukhsar Zaheer, a student of nursing class resident of Jehaz Ground Colony, committed suicide.
According to reports, Rukhsar Zaheer had a quarrel with her mother, a health worker, over her marriage proposal. She took poisonous pills and was taken to hospital where she died.
In Kasur, five persons including two women were killed in separate road accidents here.
According to police, two persons were killed in collision between a motorbike and tractor-trolley in Surhali village. The police said that three brothers - Rafique, 30, Ashraf, 26 and Naeem, 24 - residents of Mustafabad, were on the way to Surhali village. As they reached near the village, a speeding tractor-trolley collided with the bike head-on. As a result, Rafique and Naeem were killed on the spot while Ashraf sustained critical injuries and was shifted to hospital.
In Saddr Pattoki, a man was killed in collision between a van and motorbike. According to police, Sher Muhammad was on the way back home along with his wife Nooran Bibi on a motorbike. As he reached near Bhoneki Morr, a speeding van collided with the bike head-on. Resultantly, Sher Muhammad died on the spot and his wife got injured critically.
In Ali Garh, a woman was killed in collision between a rickshaw and tractor-trolley. The police said that Khursheed Bibi was on the way back home on a rickshaw when a tractor-trolley hit the rickshaw from the rear, killing Khursheed on the spot.
While a Class IX girl student was crushed to death on Haji Fareed Road. Shabana Bibi was on the way back home on foot. As she reached Haji Fareed Road, a speeding van crushed her to death.
The police launched investigation into the incidents.
In Nowshera Virkan, three persons were killed and 10 others sustained critical injuries in collision between two vans here on Tataly Aali Road the other day.
According to police, a passenger van was on the way to Gujranwala. As it reached near Marri Mini village, it collided with a Lahore-bound van, coming from the opposite direction. Resultantly, three persons including two students were killed on the spot while 10 others sustained critical injuries and were shifted to hospital. Police are investigating.
