The Science and Technology Minister Azam Swati has restored two senior officers who were previously dismissed from service on the order of the court for tempering in the official record.

Federal Minister Azam Swati has accepted their appeals for reinstatement and issued orders on 19 November that both officers - Haider Zaman Khattak and Dr Hafeez Ullah Khan - may rejoin their duties. Both the officers were dismissed by Justice Aamir Farooq of Islamabad High Court (IHC) in August 2016 on proving the guilty for tempering the record of Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF).

The two officers filed separate applications in the Appellate Bench of the IHC, but this time, instead of their restoration, the court ordered for their compulsory retirement and levied fine on them too.

Now, after the reinstatement of both officers, a wave of panic was proliferated among the staff of PSF as they wrote a letter to chairman of the foundation on 30th November in which the staff showed their reservations over the decision of the minister.
