LAHORE - Jaun Garcia Grossi, an eight goal Argentinean player, stunned one and all on the polo field of 12 Goals Cup with targeted hits across the bars for Askari Bank against Niche here at the LPC ground on Tuesday. Grossi began the match with two back-to-back conversions on a 30-yarder penalty and extended his lone role to 10 goals in the 11 and a half to six goals win over Niche while the eleventh goal came from Mir Shoaib Ahmed. The control of Grossi could be gauged from the fact that the third and fourth quarters of the game were entirely dominated by Askari. They managed three goals in the third chukker and another four in the fourth session. Some polo was seen from Niche in the later stage of the first stage and in parts of the second chukker by then they were leading the game five goals to four. But from the start of the third chukker till the end Askari left Niche off colour. Another Argentinean player Lindor Novillo Corvalan, Col Nadeem Raja and Raja Samiullah showed great guts in the first two chukkers but all their efforts ended in a losing cause when Grossi unleashed his wrath of goals. The match was supervised by John Fisher and Gaston Moore.
